Colm Meaney – Miles O’Brien

Colm Meaney’s “Star Trek” career reads like that Drake song “Started From The Bottom.” He appeared in the pilot for “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” credited as an “unnamed helm officer.” But as his performances proved captivating, the showrunner started using the character more and more.

Eventually, he was given a full-time role and named Miles O’Brien, and he went on to star in 52 episodes of the show. Despite his work, he never made it into any spinoff films, although he had other film roles in “Pelé: Birth of a Legend” and 2019’s “Tolkien.” In 2021 he had a role in the series “Fúria.”
