Looking at the owner’s reaction and ongoing sleep, we assume this wasn’t the first time his dog stepped on his face. However, this looks adorable in a camping situation because it seems like the dog acted as a guard and protection from possible outside dangers.

Dogs are naturally protective of their keepers. They are accustomed to being taken care of by humans, and they become more protective and aggressive under specific circumstances. This is one of many reasons why dogs are one of the best animal companions while out camping.
