Emily Maitlis – Presenter, £325K

If you’ve seen “Doctor Who,” you may have seen Emily Maitlis on an episode in 2021. Acting aside, she is a familiar presence on BBC’s current affairs program, “Newsnight,” where she’s served as the lead anchor. But working on the show doesn’t affect her election coverage duties. And with an annual take-home of £325K, anyone would be motivated to get the job done.

Interestingly, Maitlis never imagined working as a journalist and presenter. In her younger years, she was enamored by her love of drama. So much so that she entertained dreams of working as a director. But life had other plans, and her foray into radio broadcasting soon led her to the BBC.
