Trevor Nelson – DJ, £220K

Trevor Nelson realized his love for music at an early age. So though he found paid employment at a shoe shop, he also moonlighted as a DJ. By 1985, he’d graduated to DJing at warehouse parties on weekends, and soon enough, he found a job at a record label.
Moving from one job to another all those years only helped Nelson sharpen his skills to a fine point. So when he moved to BBC’s Radio 1 in 1996, it was to present the first-ever national RnB show, “The Rhythm Nation.” Nelson was reported to have earned £230K in 2021. And that same year, he appeared on an episode of “The Wheel.”
