Mel Gibson

The Academy Award winner Mel Gibson earned widespread acclaim for playing action heroes in films like “Mad Max” and the “Lethal Weapon” series. But he’s also made the news for various other reasons, including his struggles in the ’00s. A controversial string of statements led to his expulsion from Hollywood for about a decade.

This photograph of Gibson dates from around that time. Outside of a Malibu restaurant, he appeared upset and presumably on the verge of hitting the cameraman.
