Arkansas – Inbound Moves: 52.4%

Arkansas’ current tricky employment situation is a far cry from the state that was once known to be the land of opportunity for anyone wishing to live the American dream.
Despite a seven-spot jump higher up on the nationwide moving rankings, more than 75% of residents who moved elsewhere did so in hopes of better employment. This scenario is not due to a lack of any available work; it has deeper ties to the state’s labor laws. Being a right-to-work state with barely existing union laws to protect the laborer, average annual salaries are low.
