Minnesota – Outbound Moves: 51.9%

Minnesota may be the bread and butter state owing to its famed wheat and dairy, but even that is not enough for its residents. Many of them are headed out of state, with jobs being the top reason. The unemployment rate may be better than the national average, but it’s rising pretty fast at a rate of about 0.4%, something that’s quite alarming.
Another reason that tops the list is the weather. Minnesota’s harsh winters see residents move to kinder weather during the cold season, and some for good. Summers can also be unbearably hot in Minnesota, and the weather extremities don’t make the state a favorite for many.
