Indiana – Outbound Moves: 52.4%

In Indiana, jobs are the main reason why the majority of the movers are outbound. Although the state seems to be the most ideal to live in when you look at the low cost of living and affordable housing, most people are out for better jobs and wages in other states.
The low cost of living means lower wages, with the average Indiana worker earning at the base of the federal rate of $7.25 an hour. Also, unfavorable policies on taxes don’t help the situation, and with over half of the total moves being outbound, it’s quite understandable.
