Hearst Castle – San Simeon, California

Hearst Castle was created by William Randolph Hearst with the accomplished assistance of architect Julia Morgan. It is quite literally a fairy tale estate known as ‘La Cuesta Encantada.’ This phrase means Enchanted Hill, and the title is rightly suited to this magical place.

Unfortunately, due to the passing away of Hearst, the castle remains unfinished. Yet, in its current state, it is a glorious property complete with peaceful gardens and dazzling swimming pools. There are also massive rooms filled with antique furniture and portraits to the interest of history buffs.
