Antelope Canyon – Arizona

Erosion is usually known to be disastrous, but with a scene as beautiful and gracious as the Antelope Canyon, we can’t deny the fact that even something so destructive has its uses. Millions of years of water erosion gave birth to this canyon located in what is now known as the Navajo Nation Reserve in Northern Arizona.

Named from the herds of pronghorn antelopes that once inhabited the ravine, the area boasts tall winding walls, light beams usually seen during the summer, and gigantic sandstone sculptures, a favorite sight for tourists, especially photographers. The Navajo natives call it Tsé Bighanilini, meaning “the place where water runs through rocks.”
