Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis – St Louis, Missouri

Built as a replacement of the previous Saint Louis Cathedral, the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis is the church that gave rise to the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Mostly famous for its large kaleidoscope mosaic installation, the length of construction is evident for this structure built from 1907 to 1914.

The mosaics collectively contain about 41.5 million glass pieces in more than 7,000 colors. It is the largest mosaic collection in the Western hemisphere, and numerous burial crypts draw Roman catholic venerators to the cathedral and sculptures that encourage racial harmony.
