Wild Horses – Assateague Island, Maryland, and Virginia

For those of us who have a soft spot for horses, this relaxing setting is the place you would wish to be. On the Assateague Island, these herds of horses flourish maybe because the National Park System manages them and the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company are in those in charge of their well-being.
Marguerite Henry initially brought the horses to our attention in 1947 when he wrote his novel Misty of Chincoteague for children. Still, these majestic creatures are even more magnificent in real life. We would recommend the location for most of our readers for relaxation.
