The Titanic Vs. Modern-Day Sea Titans

At the time of its maiden voyage, the Titanic was reportedly the largest passenger ship in the world. Built in 1912, it weighed 46,328 tons and had the capacity to hold up to 3,327 people. But as titan-like as the doomed ship was during its time, cruise ships today make it look small.
In comparison, modern cruise ships like the Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas weigh 228,081 tons and can accommodate up to 8,880 people. This massive size difference is due to the number of amenities aboard the cruise ship, including 24 pools, 22 restaurants, and even an ice-skating rink.
