Gene inheritance is a truly unpredictable process. Believe it or not, we’re looking at a son and father duo. And it looks like the tall gene skipped a generation. Guessing from this photo alone, this guy grew up to be about a foot and a half taller than his dad.

According to one Reddit commenter, this phenomenon might be caused by a human growth hormone (HGH) deficiency on the dad’s part. Apparently, he might have had the tall gene himself, but a lack of hormones prevented him from reaching his full potential. On the bright side, his son inherited the family feature just fine.
