Finland

Finnish women are strong and determined and demand respect. They were the first country in Europe to grant women the right to vote, which means they have made remarkable advances for women in economic and political spheres. The Telegraph reported in 2006 that most Finnish women are financially independent.
Finish women have long participated in the administration of their country and occupied critical political offices. They have had a female President, Tarja Halonen. She was the 11th Finnish president and served from 2000 to 2012. Her presidency was a success as she was incredibly popular, enjoying an 88% approval rating in December 2003.
