Wine Bottle Punt for Balance

Many people enjoy having a glass of wine after dinner or winding down after a long day. If you partake of the drink, then chances are you’ve noticed the depression at the bottom of the bottle. Well, while it looks like an interesting design, it has some fascinating use.

Called a ‘kick-up,’ the punt gives the pitcher some stability so no gust of wind can blow it away and at the same time ensures that it’s strong enough to hold the sparkling wine or champagne. Moreover, it helps distribute steam evenly when the packers clean the bottle before storing the magic grape juice in it.
