Aluminum Foil’s Practical Packaging

Designers often come up with simple but smart solutions to make our lives easier. Sometimes, however, these design gems remain hidden and are not fully used by the general public. One example of such unknown design gems is the tabs on either end of the aluminum foil packaging.

We have all seen these perforated tabs and wondered what their purpose is. It turns out that when both flaps are turned in, they hold the roll in place so that when we pull out foil, the roll stays in place. What a practical feature!
