Dan Rather & Jean Goebel – Together for 63 Years

Dan Rather is an American hero. In 1961, he created the first radar weather report by placing a transparent map over a radar image of Hurricane Carla. His creation initiated the evacuation of 350,000 people in Texas.

Rather is also well known for his work with CBS, as one of the big three news anchors, and for his correspondence work at The White House. He has been married to Jean Goebel since 1957, and in a recent interview, he said that she was his inspiration throughout his career. Rather is currently hosting the eighth season of The Big Interview With Dan Rather.
