George & Norma Strait, Together for 48 Years

Country music singer George Strait eloped with Norma, his high school sweetheart, in 1971. They welcomed their daughter Jenifer in 1972 and their son George nine years later. They suffered the tragedy of losing their daughter when she was only 13 years old, caused by a traffic collision. 

George and Norma set up a foundation in honor of Jenifer with the aim of making donations to children’s charities around San Antonio. They became grandparents in 2012 when their son George had his first child. Norma is incredibly supportive of her husband and to this date, she accompanies him when he goes on tour.
