A Hole in Allen’s Story

Allen’s account of the Alcatraz escape raised suspicions right from the start. He claimed the fugitives planned to commit robberies on Angel Island to aid their getaway, yet no such crimes were reported in the weeks following their disappearance. This glaring inconsistency suggested two possibilities: either the escapees never survived the bay or vanished somewhere far from their alleged destination.
Adding to the doubts, Allen asserted he was the brains of the operation despite his failure to escape. With only his questionable narrative to guide them, authorities were left with more questions than answers, prompting the FBI to step in and unravel the mystery surrounding the missing trio.
