Allen’s Last-Minute Efforts

Allen, left behind during the daring escape from Alcatraz, didn’t abandon his quest for freedom. Throughout the night, he persisted, finally managing to widen his escape hole enough to break free from his cell. Fueled by hope, he hurried to catch up with his fellow escapees.

But by the time he reached the roof, the others were already vanishing into the night. Faced with a stark choice between the perilous waters of the bay and the relative safety of his cell, Allen chose survival over uncertainty.
