Helen Shapiro – 74

Helen Shapiro was only 14 years old when she recorded You Don’t Know and Walkin’ Back to Happiness, two songs that dominated the U.K. charts in 1961. By 1963, The Beatles merely served as her opening act during their British national tour debut. The Londoner was then 16 and already voted as the U.K.’s Top Female Singer.

In 1987, Shapiro found a new calling in being a follower of Christ, which eventually led her to give up the spotlight for some time in 2002. Now, at 74 years old, the iconic songstress is happily married to John Judd, who she’s been with since 1988.
