Beverly Johnson – 71

Beverly Ann Johnson is a pathbreaker in the modeling industry. She was the first African-American of her profession to grace the cover of American Vogue and the French edition of Elle in the mid-’70s. It meant every major magazine seller began to feature African-American models.
In addition, she has also written books. In 2015, she wrote a memoir called “The Face That Changed It All,” which discusses an incident with Bill Cosby. Since then, she has not appeared in a film or a movie, but she did a 2021 Interview with USA Today where, with Tyra Banks, she reflected on the legacy of being “the first.”
