George John Mitchell – 87

In his prime, Democratic Party member George John Mitchell acted as a U.S. Senator from Maine (1980-1995) and Senate Majority Leader (1989-1995). To recognize his part in the peace process of Northern Ireland, he got a 1989 Nobel Peace Prize nomination and even accepted a Presidential Medal of Freedom the following year. Interestingly enough, he also became The Walt Disney Company chairman between March 2004 and January 2007. In recent years, though, the 87-year-old Mitchell has had one unfortunate event after another. Unsealed court documents embroiled him with the Jeffrey Epstein child trafficking ring in 2015, and in August 2020, he received a leukemia diagnosis.
