Barbara Knox – 87

The English actress Barbara Knox joined the cast of the long-running soap opera Coronation Street in 1964. Fifty-seven years later, in 2021, she made it to her 3,152nd episode of the soap! As charming and cheeky as always, even at the age of 87, Knox plays the popular character of Rita Sullivan.

Before becoming a major TV actress, Knox had a tough life. She left school at the age of 15 and worked as a post office telegraphist. She then got involved with amateur theatre while working at a factory. She was so good that she ended up being invited to debut in the 1962 musical The Boyfriend.
