Jay North became a star when he was only a child due to his portrayal of Dennis the Menace, an adaptation of the famous comic strip that was a complete success. He continued to participate in the industry both as an actor and later as a voice actor before deciding that it was time for his retirement from the public scrutiny. North later revealed that he struggled a lot as a child actor—as it tends to happen. He became part of the initiative called A Minor Consideration with fellow actor Paul Petersen, which looks to provide support for those child actors who need it.
