Jonathan Brandis, 27, 1976-2003

Jonathan Brandis started as a child model before getting his big break as an actor in the ’90s. He played in projects like It and SeaQuest 2032, even winning the Young Artists Award. After that, the Connecticut-born star had one magazine appearance after another and then one movie after another.

In 2003, he committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. He was only 27 years old. Friends and family would say that depression was its cause, which led him to drink heavily. In the 2021 Hulu documentary Kid90, Soleil Moon Frye went through old recordings, videos, and diaries featuring her close friends from the past, like Brandis.
