Robin Williams, 63, 1951-2014

Robin Williams had the knack of making us laugh in one scene and cry in the next. It came from his lifetime of comedy as an actor and a stand-up comedian, but behind the scenes, he had depression.

The Good Will Hunting star took his life in August 2014; however, its underlying cause was Lewy body dementia, a rare brain disease. Williams was survived by his third wife, Susan Schneider. She would later participate in a documentary of this part of his life called Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind in 2018.
