Gene Wilder, 83, 1933-2016

Gene Wilder went out of the acting industry with a bang, having won an Emmy Award for his last acting role in Will & Grace in 2003 for Outstanding Guest Actor. From there, he turned to writing, publishing several books, including a memoir and two novels.

In his memoir, Kiss Me Like A Stranger, he said his ex-wife, Gilda Radner, gave him the title. She died of ovarian cancer in 1989, and Wilder did not think he would find love again. Two years later, he married Karen Boyer, who he would stay married until death parted them in 2016.
