Smokey Robinson – 79

Born in 1940, American singer/songwriter Smokey Robinson is best known as the founder of the ’50s vocal group The Miracles. Signed with the classic record label Motown, The Miracles happened to be the label’s first successful act. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, Robinson was assigned to be Motown‘s vice president in 1972. In 1990, he finally left the iconic label to dedicate to his solo career. Now 79 years old, he’s still working actively as a musician. His latest record, Smokey & Friends, was released in 2014 and featured several renowned guest artists such as Elton John, Mary J. Blige, and John Legend.
