Remember Barry Sanders? He is a former running back who is deemed as one of the best to have ever played in that position in the NFL. He set a record with his all-career team, the Detroit Lions, in 1997 after rushing over 2,000 yards in one single season. Naturally, he was picked as 1997’s NFL Most Valuable Player. In that same year, he was considered to be NFL‘s Offensive Player of the Year and received a Bert Bell Award. In 1998, Barry retired earlier than some would expect. Following his exit, the Detroit Lions honored him by retiring jersey number 20.
