Annie Oakley

American sniper Annie Oakley is regarded as the country’s first female icon. By triumphing in a bet against renowned marksman Frank E. Butler, who she later married, she broke the dominance of men in the shooting sport. She even hosted royalty, including German Kaiser Wilhelm II and British Queen Victoria.
Her life story has been adapted into a multitude of plays, films, and television shows but the most popular ones are the films and stage versions of “Annie Get Your Gun.” Numerous women learned how to shoot from her. She was also a philanthropist who supported orphans by giving to organizations because she remembers her early days of hardship.
