Edvard Munch

Edvard Munch is credited as being a founding member of the Expressionist school of modern painting. At first, the Norwegian printmaker and painter attended a technical institution to study engineering. However, he quickly discovered that his true interest was in the arts and transferred to the Royal School of Art and Design to continue his studies.
Munch was naturally gifted and spilled his misery onto the canvas in the form of powerful works that had complex psychological undertones. He ultimately gained international acclaim for his priceless commitments to the Expressionist movement and was also regarded as a highly esteemed artist.
