Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson was the seventh United States president as well as the first representative of the Democratic Party. He was an attorney, farmer, and soldier, but he is best known for becoming one of the United States’ best leaders. He attained a national reputation due to his contributions to the “War of 1812,” where he decisively defeated both the main British army and the Indians at the Battle of New Orleans.
He ran for the United States presidency twice, losing the first time but winning the subsequent. He is recognized as one of the most assertive and contentious U.S. presidents in history, in addition to being one of the most influential.
