John “Johnny Appleseed” Chapman

Apple trees were first planted in many parts of the United States by the renowned American nurseryman Johnny Appleseed. His father taught him the fundamentals of the farming trade. By the 1800s, he was working independently and roaming the Midwest of America while sowing seeds.
According to the former American laws, by the time of his death, he had acquired ownership of more than 1200 acres of land. Because of the symbolic significance, he ascribed to his apple trees, he rose to become a renowned figure in American mythology. He evolved into a national legend over time. He served as the model for the Ohio-based “Johnny Appleseed Museum.”
