See The Ice Melt Before Your Eyes

The time-lapse video is posted on the NASA Climate Change YouTube account. Published in 2016, the visualization has gotten over 300,000 views on the platform. In its description tab, the uploader explained that the almost one-and-half minute video depicts the age of ice in different colors.
Young ice is rendered in dark blue, while ice that’s at least four years old is in white. Observing the visual more closely, you’ll notice that while the blue areas return to the same extent each year, the space the white areas occupy significantly shrink as the years pass.
