About To Be Swallowed Whole

Another interesting fact about the Denman Glacier and the canyon beneath it is that there’s a big possibility that the block of ice would someday sink into the deep crevice of the canyon. That’s what a 2020 study found out after monitoring the glacier through two decades’ worth of satellite data.
From 1996 to 2018, the frozen mass retreated for about three miles. It’s speculated that the canyon is significantly contributing to the fast rate the Denman Glacier is melting. This might not be the most worrying thing going on in Antarctica, though.
