Heron Nests in Russia’s Forests
Possible Drone Used: DJI Mini 2 Quadcopter

Dmitri Viliunov’s award-winning aerial photograph titled “Where Herons Live” offers an exciting glimpse into the secret world of the birds. Contrary to popular belief, herons don’t just reside in reeds or swampland but also build their nests at the tops of giant trees, as seen here in the midst of Russia’s expansive forests.
Viliunov’s ethereal photo, which won the Wildlife Category at the Drone Awards, captures the herons nesting high in the treetops with an almost painting-like quality. The DJI Mini 2 Quadcopter may have been used for this shot, as its altitude capabilities allow for a closer look at these majestic birds without disturbing them.
