Bernadette Chirac

When you are the President’s wife, as Bernadette Chirac was with her husband Jacques Chirac for two terms from 1995 to 2007, you tend to forget that today’s widow also went to Sciences Po, where she had met her future husband and that she was elected General Councilor of Corrèze on several occasions from the 1980s.

We also remember her “Yellow Pieces” operations when she chaired the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris et de France, one of the charities close to her heart. Today, she lives in withdrawal from the media world, at 86, knowing that she is also mourning her husband, who died in 2019.
