A Bad Day To Park Next to the Fire Hydrant

Probably everywhere around the world, it is illegal to park next to a fire hydrant and sometimes even as far as 15 feet from it. This is so because of fire emergencies, and nobody really wants their car windows to be smashed when something urgent like that happens. Just imagine the fine and the repair cost in exchange for easy parking—it’s not worth it.
A fire hydrant is also called a “fireplug” because firefighters used to drill pipes that would fill wet wells with water back in the day. After being filled, it would be plugged; thereby giving birth to the term.
