Paige Spiranac and How She Turned Herself Into Golf’s Biggest Star

Angeline Smith Mar 03, 2023

Paige Spiranac, a Brief Introduction

Paige Spiranac has many identities that define her in today’s world. She has been a professional athlete, playing golf in the United States since she was young. She has played at a college level and has participated in two tournaments on a professional level.

However, she has made more headlines for her brave and expressive way of dressing while playing. She has turned to social media to become an influencer and reclaim her body while fighting bullies commenting on her clothing and women’s bodies. In doing so, she has gained millions of followers online and has several magazine features.

Being Athletic Runs in the Blood

Paige’s interest in athletics should not be a mystery. Her father, Dan, played football for the University of Pittsburg’s team and even helped them win the 1976 national championship. Her mother was a professional ballerina, and though it is not a sport, it requires tremendous physical skills.

Her older sister, Lexie, was a track star and even received an athletic scholarship to Stanford because of it. Naturally, it rubbed off on Paige, too, and she found her calling in gymnastics. She was brilliant enough to receive an invitation from the Olympic training center. This was perfect, as it was her dream to be a part of the Olympics team.

When Injury Turns into a Silver Lining

Unfortunately for Paige, her dreams of competing in the Olympics in gymnastics event had to be cut short. She was at the age of 12 when she was injured, shattering her kneecap. Her two-time broken kneecap meant that she could no longer be a gymnast. Not to dwell in sadness, Paige found another sport to occupy her. It was golf.

In tournaments of the Colorado junior’s circuit, she was victorious in 5 out of 7, making waves for her name. Eager to train, she decided to study at home. It would give her more time to focus on her athletic activities.
