Don’t Listen to the Haters: Russia is Fashionable

Russian elegance is often associated with brilliant classical music, beautiful ballet choreographies, and breathtaking literature. Fashion is not exactly their cup of tea, which is not to say there aren’t some purely-Russian trends worth noting. This icy-eyelashes selfie, for instance, became viral around 2018 and made for a stunning photo.

The most interesting thing is that the woman in the picture, Anastasia Gruzdeva, decided to take a summer selfie back to this exact spot. Her face wasn’t covered in snow this time around, but rather mosquitoes! Mosquitoes are very prevalent in her hometown in the Russian republic of Yakutia, also known as Sakha.
