Johnny Cash Broke a Wall with a Chair

Johnny Cash was a singer known for his outlaw country lifestyle. He lived the life of a rock star even though his songs were all in the pop genre. He had a cowboy meets rock star vibe and was an icon in the music industry. Cash also had a wild streak, as evident from an incident recalled by guitarist Johnny Western.

Western started hanging out with Cash in 1958 and recalls that once, he was staying in a motel next to fellow country music legend Carl Perkins. Cash was thoroughly intoxicated at the time, and instead of walking to Perkins’ room, he smashed the wall in between with a chair.
