Batgirl in 1967

Yvonne Craig’s loved ballet since she was a child and knew she had to pursue it. She would rehearse diligently for years with her ballerina and instructor, Alexandra Danilova, before joining Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, the group’s youngest member. After moving to Los Angeles to pursue a professional ballet career, she became interested in acting instead.
After she took on the role of Batgirl on TV, it transformed her life forever. Later, Craig admitted to Closer magazine that when she had taken up the part, she was not aware of ”Batman” and really made an effort to study and learn until she was familiar with that fictional world.
