In 1978, Springsteen was on one of the most important tours of his life. He played 115 shows and hit significant markets, college towns, and everywhere in between to preach the gospel of The Boss.

Many fans later described his shows as a religious experience. The mood was very intense with multiple sets. Often at the end of Springsteen’s performances, many in the audience had to pick themselves up from the floor because they had sat down engrossed in the music.
