Ghostly Halls of Learning

This derelict place seen here in 1965 vs. 2012 is where years of neglect have replaced the echoes of school bells. Built in 1890, the Bennett School for Girls in Millbrook, New York, was once a prestigious institution. Abandoned in 1978 due to financial struggles, it is now a haunting relic of bygone days.
Nature has since taken over, with vines crawling up its Gothic architecture. Ownership disputes and costly restoration needs have thwarted efforts to preserve or repurpose the building. The eerie, decaying structure remains a silent witness to history, much like a scene from “Stranger Things,” leaving visitors both intrigued and unnerved.
