Glory: Civil War Watch Blunder

There’s a glaring costume mistake in the 1989 film “Glory,” which tells the story of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War. In one scene, a soldier is spotted wearing a wristwatch. Given that the film is set in the 1860s, this is quite an anachronism—wristwatches weren’t commonly worn until the early 20th century.
This blunder might have been due to an extra forgetting to remove their modern accessory. Surprisingly, this oversight made it to the final cut, adding an unintentional laugh in an otherwise serious moment. While not in too significant a scene, it’s a noticeable gaffe for keen-eyed viewers.
