Jonah Hex: Bold and Revealing Outfits

The 2010 DC Comics adaptation “Jonah Hex” was a serious box office flop, but we can’t blame just the costume department for all the movie’s shortcomings. Even so, Megan Fox’s character Lilah Black, portrayed as a female escort, wore a revealing corset that was far from historically accurate.

Women of that time, even in that profession, dressed more modestly, typically in layered garments with long skirts and blouses. Such attire was practical and conformed to the era’s social norms, even for those working in brothels. The film’s choice of costume for Lilah adds a modern twist to a historical setting, creating a noticeable contrast.
