Portuguese Man o’ War

Physalia Physalis is also called Portuguese man o’ war or man-of-war. It is a hydrozoan (sea serpent) found in the Pacific and Indian oceans. Biologists describe it as several creatures packed in one with several smaller organisms collectively forming it.

Besides its biological makeup, the sea serpent is deadly and stings much like a jellyfish. It also causes severe dermatitis, or in some isolated cases, their sting can even lead to death. They can often be washed ashore by strong winds. When one is on a beach, it can lead to the closure of the grounds because of the danger they pose.
