Clawed Frog

The African clawed frog is an aquatic amphibian belonging to the Pipidae family. It gets its name from the three short claws it has on each of its hind feet. The frog uses its claws to tear food apart.
It inhabits several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as Sudan, Nigeria, and South Africa. The frog’s also endemic in isolated introduced populations in Europe, North America, and South America. Like other frog species belonging to the Pipidae family, the clawed frog is toothless and tongueless. They also don’t have actual ears and use lateral lines running underneath the length of their bodies to sense movements.
